Darren Hayman's personal guide to the old classic Cafés of Great Britain. (with a heavy bias towards London and the South East).

Brook's Mews London W1
I'm particularly fond of Sandwich Bar, I don't know why, its not the grandest or most retro of classic cafes. I think maybe its because of its location. Right in the middle of posh West London, a last remaining outpost for food under a fiver! I used to go here on my way to Battersea. I'm getting worried that I might be diabetic. I should preface that by saying that I've been a mild hypochondriac all my life. I just get incredibly hungry sometimes, well it's not like I'm hungry. It's like I get dizzy and faint. Now I know a lot of the food I'm stuffing down my face in these places isn't that good for you especially if you're a diabetic, anyway I just saw the pictures of the coke cans and though I'd let you into my head for a few minutes.
