Darren Hayman's personal guide to the old classic Cafés of Great Britain. (with a heavy bias towards London and the South East).

Leabridge Road, London, E10

The second cafe here that's extremely local to me. This place has booths. I love booths, you can really stretch out with your paper (Sunday Sport in my case of course) a real opportunity to make time for yourself.

Some other things to point out about this place. It has a modest but reasonably prominent place on a shelf near the counter. Now this is something to remember if any of you out of towners come round our East End. They love their royals round here, they really do! Much further down the Leabridge Road is a pub called the Princess of Wales, which was called the Prince of Wales until Di popped her clogs.

The second thing I wanted to say, and I know I'm going to sound like a lechy old scroat for saying it but Ferrari's definitely had the best looking  counter staff of any of the cafes featured here. Its not that important really, it doesn't make the food taste any better. Actually it does a bit.
