Recorded during sessions for the forthcoming album; 'Secondary Modern'. The two songs on this seven inch will not appear on that album. This song has already been made popular on Darren's recent tour. The b-side features Terry Edwards on saxophone. Limited to 500 numbered copies.

For such a short career, Hefner were incredibly prolific, but this release proves we only knew half the story. 43 unreleased songs are collected here on two CDs. The songs are sequenced in reverse order, starting with the final Hefner recording session and going right back to 1994 with Darren's earliest songs, 3 years before Breaking God's Heart. The CDs also come with extensive new sleeve notes from Darren himself and previously unseen photographs.

On the 23^rd August 2000 Hefner played a very special show from BBC’s Maida Vale studios to an invited audience for the John Peel show. This was the highlight of a relationship between the band and the greatly revered DJ which saw 5 Peel sessions and four live concerts broadcast on his Radio 1 show. The concert on this CD features an 8 piece version of the band with includes a brass section, pedal steels, ukuleles and violin alongside their own guitars bass and drums. It also features several contributions from Amelia Fletcher, (Talulah Gosh, Heavenly, Wedding Present, Marine Research). The songs have been newly remixed from the original master tapes and the CD features photos from the night and sleeve notes from Darren Hayman. The CD captures an exceptional performance of many songs rarely played live during Hefner’s short career. Click on the red bus to see new video footage of Hefner live!

The songs on Hayman’s debut album; Table for One concern crumbling cafes, dog charities, a broken hearted Doug Yule, retiring School teachers and air hostesses plummeting to their death. It’s not fun in Darren’s head but it IS fun to watch and listen from a distance.

A note on sizes. Extra Large is very, very big. Large is a hefty bloke. Mans Medium is a bit smaller than large, same size as Darren (?). Medium Youth/Girls or Ladies Medium Loose, is a medium lady about 34" chest, with a loose fit, it would also do a small man. Ladies Medium Fitted is a slightly higher quality shirt, still medium/34ish but a definite closer fit. Ladies Skinny fit is only for the very petite!
